The season of fall is upon us when we look forward to cooler weather and beautiful family celebrations and memories. As Catholics, we also enjoy particular memories of our saints and loved ones at this time too. The Gift Shoppe has suggestions for your consideration. October 1 is the feast St Therese of the Child Jesus, have you read her famous “Biography of a Soul” a short book that that has been popular for over a century as people seek to nourish their spiritual lives. Her statues and medals remind us of her ‘little way’ in our own daily lives. Maybe someone you know would enjoy these. October 4 is the feast of one of the Church’s most famous sons, St. Francis of Assisi. The Shoppe has many variations on the theme of peace and nature that he is famous for. Have you considered something for your home or garden with his messages? October 11 is the feast of St. Pope John XIII and October 22 is the feast of St. Pope John Paul II, two people whose influence on the 20th century can never be overestimated. Our Gift Shoppe includes their writings and mementos for yourself or as a gift.
Honor someone you love with a gift of an image of their patron saint. The feast of All Saints’ Day (Nov. 1) and All Souls’ Day (Nov. 2) are especially important to our belief in the communion of saints. We carry lovely items to remember our beloved deceased, for home or garden.
As our nation gives thanks on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, consider a hostess gift for the season or home décor for yourself.
Advent begins Sunday, November 27. Advent candles will be available for purchase November.
